Welcome to the Conversation Pieces web site. Thank you for being a part of this project.

I have been immersed in making a series of compartmented boxes for almost a year now, exploring relationships between images and objects. I am in my own conversation with these pieces. What I miss are my conversations with a larger audience about the work. This project is about generating those conversations.

Seven host households in six cities across the country were chosen as sites for the exhibition. The seven artworks were shipped simultaneously to the host locations. I asked that hosts display the pieces in their homes, studios, or offices, somewhere that they could live with and share the artwork for a month. Or they can move it around. It's up to them. And they can share the experience with others as they like.

The work can hang on a wall or sit on a desk or shelf. You can even hold it in your hands. I am encouraging the viewers to have conversations with it and about it. At the end of the month the artwork is shipped back to me. At least once during or afterwards the hosts and I would talk or skype or correspond so that I can learn something about the experience. And you can participate too. Send me an email at amacleod@iconoclastic.net.
