The box was found in a different position on the
shelf each day subsequent to deployment until January 26, 1982 when
it was no longer on the shelf. The box was purchased by Steve Garnier,
a Menlo Park school teacher, on or about January 26, 1982. In a
telephone conversation Mr. Garnier stated that he had the box home
before he was aware that it had been altered. He described his initial
reaction as "annoyed." After examining the box he "decided
that it was hysterical and appropriate." He further declared
that his attitude towards the Nestlé Corporation was "definitely"
changed. Mr. Garnier took the box to his school where he discussed
it with his classes. Contact with Mr. Garnier was made by Alec MacLeod
who had been contacted by the grandparent of an interested student.
